Rumput jarum adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Nama ilmiah Andropogon aciculatus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Anders Johan Retzius pada tahun 1789.
