Andropogon polyptychos merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah India selatan, Sri Lanka, Indo-China. Nama ilmiah Andropogon polyptychos pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ernst Gottlieb von Steudel pada tahun 1854.
