Aponogeton abyssinicus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Aponogetonaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh di air dan membentuk bonggol berbentuk umbi. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Ethiopia hingga Malawi. Nama ilmiah Aponogeton abyssinicus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Christian Ferdinand Friedrich Hochstetter pada tahun 1850.
