Arachis monticola merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Argentina barat laut (Jujuy). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan peanut. Nama ilmiah Arachis monticola pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Antonio Krapovickas pada tahun 1958.
