Arachis prostrata merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan grassnut. Nama ilmiah Arachis prostrata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama George Bentham pada tahun 1839.
