Arbutus unedo merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Ericaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Mediterania. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan strawberry tree. Nama ilmiah Arbutus unedo pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1753.
