Areca novohibernica merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Arecaceae (suku pinang-pinangan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kepulauan Bismarck hingga Kepulauan Solomon. Nama ilmiah Areca novohibernica diperkenalkan oleh Carl Adolf Georg Lauterbach pada tahun 1914.
