Argyroxiphium virescens merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran) yang memiliki siklus reproduktif hanya sekali seumur hidupnya (monokarpip). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma pegunungan tropis di wilayah Kepulauan Hawaii (Maui timuri: Ukelele, Pu'unianiau, Ko'olau Gap, Kuiki). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan greensword. Nama ilmiah Argyroxiphium virescens diperkenalkan oleh William (Wilhelm) Hillebrand pada tahun 1888.
