Argythamnia coatepensis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Meksiko (Veracruz, Puebla, Oaxaca). Nama ilmiah Argythamnia coatepensis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Townshend Stith Brandegee pada tahun 1945.
