Aristida patula merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Florida. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan tall threeawn. Nama ilmiah Aristida patula pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Alvan Wentworth Chapman pada tahun 1896.
