Aristida portoricensis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Puerto Rico hingga Kepulauan Leeward. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan pelos del diablo. Nama ilmiah Aristida portoricensis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Robert Knud Friedrich Pilger pada tahun 1903.
