Mungsi arab adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Artemisia cina ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Iran hingga Asia tengah. Nama ilmiah Artemisia cina diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Otto Karl Berg pada tahun 1863.
