Artemisia stracheyi merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim dingin (subalpin atau subarktik) dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Himalaya barat hingga Tibet. Nama ilmiah Artemisia stracheyi diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Joseph Dalton Hooker pada tahun 1876.
