Arum nigrum merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Araceae (suku talas-talasan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk bonggol berbentuk umbi. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Semenanjung Balkan barat laut, Yunani utara. Nama ilmiah Arum nigrum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Heinrich Wilhelm Schott pada tahun 1857.
