Asclepias atroviolacea merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Apocynaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Meksiko utara. Nama ilmiah Asclepias atroviolacea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Robert Everard Woodson pada tahun 1954.
