Asclepias rubra adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Apocynaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari New York hingga Texas. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan red milkweed. Nama ilmiah Asclepias rubra pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1753.
