Aspalathus petersonii merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape. Nama ilmiah Aspalathus petersonii pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Rolf Martin Theodor Dahlgren pada tahun 1988.
