Aster farreri merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Qinghai timur hingga China bagian tengah. Nama ilmiah Aster farreri diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama William Wright Smith pada tahun 1916.
