Aster heliopsis merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Himalaya tengah dan timur hingga Tibet selatan. Nama ilmiah Aster heliopsis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Andrew John Charles Grierson pada tahun 1964.
