Astragalus altus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah New Mexico. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan tall milkvetch. Nama ilmiah Astragalus altus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Elmer Otis Wooton pada tahun 1913.
