Astragalus brachycarpus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Türkiye timur hingga Iran barat laut. Nama ilmiah Astragalus brachycarpus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Friedrich August Marschall von Bieberstein pada tahun 1808.
