Astragalus pachypus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah California. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan thickpod milkvetch. Nama ilmiah Astragalus pachypus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Edward Lee Greene pada tahun 1885.
