Astragalus xerophilus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Türkiye timur hingga Iran barat laut. Nama ilmiah Astragalus xerophilus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Friedrich von Ledebour pada tahun 1843.
