Astripomoea cephalantha merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Convolvulaceae (suku kangkung-kangkungan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Tanzania (Mwanza). Nama ilmiah Astripomoea cephalantha pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ernst Hans Hallier pada tahun 1958.
