Astrococcus cornutus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kolombia (Guainía) hingga Venezuela (Amazonas) dan Brazil (Amazonas). Nama ilmiah Astrococcus cornutus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama George Bentham pada tahun 1854.
