Ateleia insularis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Meksiko (Pulau María Madre). Nama ilmiah Ateleia insularis diperkenalkan oleh Paul Carpenter Standley pada tahun 1919.
