Atrichoseris platyphylla merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Amerika Serikat barat daya hingga Meksiko (Baja California Norte). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan parachute plant. Nama ilmiah Atrichoseris platyphylla pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Asa Gray pada tahun 1884.
