Avena saxatilis merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Sicilia (Pulau Lipari, Marettimo, Limosa). Nama ilmiah Avena saxatilis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Michele Lojacono pada tahun 1978.
