Avicennia marina subsp. australasica merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan Malesia hingga Australia Timur dan tenggara, Pulau North Selandia Baru. Nama ilmiah Avicennia marina subsp. australasica diperkenalkan oleh Wilhelm Gerhard Walpers pada tahun 1994.
Avicennia marina var. australasica (Walp.) Moldenke Avicennia marina var. resinifera (G.Forst.) Bakh. Avicennia resinifera G.Forst. Avicennia tomentosa var. australasica Walp.
