Axonopus chimantensis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Venezuela. Nama ilmiah Axonopus chimantensis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Gerrit Davidse pada tahun 1987.
