Baccharis glutinosa merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Galápagos, Brazil selatan, hingga Amerika Selatan bagian selatan. Nama ilmiah Baccharis glutinosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Christiaan Hendrik Persoon pada tahun 1807.
