Bacopa congesta merupakan tumbuhan dwimusim atau menahun dari famili Plantaginaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Brazil hingga Argentina timur laut. Nama ilmiah Bacopa congesta diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Robert Hippolyte Chodat pada tahun 1904.
