Bambu duri adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan bambu dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Bambusa bambos ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari anak benua India hingga Indo-China. Bambu duri juga dikenal dengan sebutan lain yaitu pring ori (Jawa). Nama ilmiah Bambusa bambos pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Andreas Voss pada tahun 1895.
