Barbacenia tomentosa merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Velloziaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil (Minas Gerais, São Paulo). Nama ilmiah Barbacenia tomentosa diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius pada tahun 1823.
