Barbarea verna merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Brassicaceae (suku sawi-sawian) yang memiliki siklus hidup dua musim (biennial). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan winter cress, upland cress, atau early yellow rocket. Nama ilmiah Barbarea verna pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Philip Miller pada tahun 1860.
