Bauhinia ovata adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil timur. Nama ilmiah Bauhinia ovata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis August Gustav Heinrich von Bongard pada tahun 1839.
