Bdallophytum americanum merupakan tumbuhan holoparasit dari famili Cytinaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga Amerika tengah. Nama ilmiah Bdallophytum americanum diperkenalkan oleh Robert Brown pada tahun 1889.
