Begonia adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan perdu atau perdu kecil dari famili Begoniaceae. Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Begonia maculata ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Brazil tenggara. Nama ilmiah Begonia maculata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Giuseppe Raddi pada tahun 1820.
