Begonia promethea adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Begoniaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kalimantan Barat. Nama ilmiah Begonia promethea diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Henry Nicholas Ridley pada tahun 1906.
