Begonia tenera merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Begoniaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk akar rimpang. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah India barat daya, Sri Lanka. Nama ilmiah Begonia tenera diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Jonas Carlsson Dryander pada tahun 1791.
