Berberis lutea merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Berberidaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma pegunungan tropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kolombia barat daya hingga Peru. Nama ilmiah Berberis lutea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Hipólito Ruiz López pada tahun 1802.
