Bidens bicolor merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko (Oaxaca, Chiapas), hingga Guatemala. Nama ilmiah Bidens bicolor pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Jesse More Greenman pada tahun 1903.
