Bifora americana merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Apiaceae (suku adas-adasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Arkansas hingga Texas. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan prairie bishop. Nama ilmiah Bifora americana diperkenalkan oleh Augustin Pyramus de Candolle pada tahun 1868.
