Biophytum helenae merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Oxalidaceae (suku belimbing-belimbingan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kamerun hingga Uganda dan kawasan tropis Afrika bagian selatan. Nama ilmiah Biophytum helenae pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Luigi Buscalioni pada tahun 1913.
