Boehmeria polystachya merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Urticaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Himalaya hingga Tibet tenggara. Nama ilmiah Boehmeria polystachya diperkenalkan oleh Hugh Algernon Weddell pada tahun 1854.
