Boswellia frereana adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Burseraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Somalia utara dan timur laut. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan elemi frankincense. Nama ilmiah Boswellia frereana pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Christopher Molesworth Birdwood pada tahun 1870.
