Bothriochloa exaristata merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Texas, Louisiana, Peru, Brazil, hingga Argentina timur laut. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan awnless beardgrass. Nama ilmiah Bothriochloa exaristata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Valentine Nash pada tahun 1941.
