Bromus tomentosus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Türkiye timur hingga Pakistan. Nama ilmiah Bromus tomentosus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Bernhard von Trinius pada tahun 1813.
