Brosimum glaucum merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Moraceae (suku ara-araan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil (Minas Gerais selatan, Bahia, Rio de Janeiro). Nama ilmiah Brosimum glaucum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Paul Hermann Wilhelm Taubert pada tahun 1890.
