Brownea coccinea subsp. capitella merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kepulauan Windward hingga Brazil (Roraima). Nama ilmiah Brownea coccinea subsp. capitella pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Nikolaus Joseph von Jacquin pada tahun 1992.
